I have been where you are. Before building this consulting practice I ran both a brick and mortar business and a service area business. I spent 20 years in corporate marketing and customer experience improving processes and integrating technology. I know what it is like to get home exhausted and wonder if you did enough to keep the phone ringing tomorrow. That question is what led me to figure out SEO for my own business.
I started seeing the same visibility problem everywhere in the service area business world. The problem was not their content. It was missing keyword foundation, structure, and pages built without a plan that connected to anything.
You will also notice I use a few analogies to make SEO feel less technical and more like something that makes sense for the way you already think about your business.
Your website is a perennial garden. Plant it once with the right foundation and it comes back year after year generating leads without starting over. Your social content is the annual. Beautiful and effective in season but it needs replanting constantly.
Keywords are the bass line. They run underneath everything and hold the content together. Your voice and your messaging is the melody that runs on top.
Your website is a book. The architecture is the table of contents. Every page is a chapter. And just like a book with no title and no organized chapters Google cannot recommend what it cannot read.
